Assembly:
1. Gather
your body piece, horns (2), tummy oval, tail, 4th leg, arms (2),
claws (6), and back spikes (4).
2. Horns: Pin each
horn to the sides of the head 6 rows down from the top. Sew using the long
tails from each horn.
3. Tail and 4th leg: Pin the tail so that the bottom of the piece lines up with
the top of the left hand (facing you) leg. Sew in place using the long tail.
Pin the 4th leg under the tail piece and right next to the left hand
(facing you) leg. Sew in place using the long tail.
4. Arms and Claws: Pin
each of the claws onto the tips of the arms. Sew in place using the long tail.
Pin the first arm onto the body so that the arm covers the tail/body join. Sew
in place using the long tail. Pin the other arm directly across from it on the
other side of the body. Sew in place using the long tail.
5. Make the face:
Left and right eye: cut an oval
from the black felt, about 1” long x ½ “ wide.
Mouth: cut an oval from the black felt, about 2 ½” long x 1/2” wide and
two small “teeth”. I cut out small W’s and then rounded the tops.
Nose: cut one tiny oval from the
black felt, about ½” long x ¼” wide.
Cut the “eye” oval and the “nose” oval in half. Glue on the mouth oval. Glue
on the “teeth” to each side of the mouth oval. Glue one half of the “eye” oval
to the left side (facing you) of the face. (It’s a good idea to pin the edges
of this half oval down until the glue is dry.) Cut the other half of the oval
in half at an angle. Glue this half to the right side (facing you) of the face.
Cut two small circles out of the white felt and glue to the left eye. These are
highlights in the eye.
6. Tummy oval:
Place and pin the tummy oval to the middle of the body. Sew in place using the long tail.
7. Back Spikes:
Flatten each spike. Beginning at the bottom closest to the tail, place and pin
each spike, one on top of each other. Each one should touch the one before it
and will be crowded. Sew each spike using the long tails.
